ArtStar.com is pleased to announce its collaboration with curator Sarah Ayers to create an exhibition highlighting Detroit based artists. Best known as the Motor City and Motown, Detroit has a truly unique place in history for its contribution to industry and culture. Like many manufacturing centers in the United States however, Detroit has faced a series of challenges associated with globalization and evolving technologies. That said, Detroit is currently undergoing a rebirth of sorts as a new creative class has begun to emerge in the city’s core. Whether it is designers, entrepreneurs, artists or engineers, young people are migrating back to Detroit in an effort to tap into the city’s DNA, one that is rich in innovation and design. In offering works by six of its most promising young artists, ArtStar.com and Ms. Ayers hope to shed light on Detroit’s burgeoning creative movement. The Detroit show will focus on six outstanding artists living and creating in the city center and aims to attract more artists, galleries and collectors to Detroit’s verging art scene. Affordable limited edition prints of work from the show will be available online at ArtStar.com, and there will be physical exhibitions in both Detroit and New York City. The exhibition in Detroit will be held at Studio Couture Detroit from November 4-27.
